The transition to climate neutrality is a major opportunity for Europe to transform its economy and make it fit for a net-zero future. This will strengthen its strategic autonomy and economic resilience in the long term.
It is also a chance to turn our citizens’ buildings into safer, more affordable, sustainable and comfortable places, thanks to lightweight construction.
The European gypsum industry repeats its commitment to the European Green Deal as an engine for changes which are indispensable for our economies and societies.
To allow enabling industries such as the gypsum sector to unleash their full potential for the green transition of the building stock and the decarbonisation of production processes, well-designed policies are needed:
Europe’s existing green agenda and the Industrial Deal proposed by the Antwerp Declaration are in our views complementing each other. The achievement of our climate neutrality targets will require solid and competitive industry actors in Europe, which are committed to this transition.
In this sense, Eurogypsum supports the Antwerp Declaration, underlining that an Industrial Deal should be supporting – and even more – accelerating the efforts to achieve the overall targets of the European Green Deal.
